In the new 2024 school year, I returned to the PHORMS Primary school to see some familiar faces that wanted to learn yet more Rugby! It was fantastic to see them again, and using the same methods of combining indoor and outdoor training, their skills developed considerably. This was the first project where I introduced the concept of “Captains” - a mentorship programme whereby the better players were themselves stretched by helping develop the less experienced ones. This helped considerably in keeping both the newcomers and old hands interested and engaged.
