In the Spring of 2025, I noticed that the 2 After School Activity Teams were reaching a similar level, and so decided to see if I could arrange an Inter-School game at the RCU Pitch. After a couple of false starts, we finally managed to get enough players interested and available and decided to combine the game with the final Bundesliga home game for the Men’s 1st team. Having done a few ice-breaker and warm up games, we went on to do some basic skills work, and then held a game of Touch Rugby between 2 teams mixed between the schools. The final result, of course, was irrelevant – which could not be said for the final game and absolute highlight of the day when the Parents and Spectators were “encouraged” to join me in making a team to face the combined “ASA All Stars” – which of course the All Stars won comfortably (I think). Having had some well earned refreshments and the RCU Famous Sausage in a Bun, we all settled down to enjoy to watch and be inspired by the RCU 1st Team doing what they do best, in a hard fought game against HTV
